Educators
Dear Jewish Educator,
Thank you for your interest. The Remember Us Project is a free and voluntary program that supports and empowers children in their encounter with the Holocaust. This is not a curriculum, it is simply an invitation to an act of memory. Participation does not add any time to the
student’s or the teacher’s schedule.
With your cooperation, we invite each child who is preparing for bar/bat mitzvah to remember one child who was lost in the Holocaust before having the opportunity to be called to the Torah, and to act in his/her name.
The Mentor’s Guide provides complete information about the program. Your student chooses what to do. We offer suggestsions about doing mitzvot in the name of the remembered children, speaking about him/her from the bimah, etc. Click here to see all program materials.
More than 8,500 children have accepted this invitation to remember a child who was lost in the Holocaust before having the chance to be called the Torah.
